WW - My new running buddy!

I went out for my second run since moving to Rimbey, Alberta.  There isn't much for running/walking trails around here so I'm very appreciative of the one trail that they do have!  Rhett was in her glory running alongside me.  She'll be a good running buddy!

Week 7

The happenings of Week 7:

Bring on Week 4

It's Monday and the beginning of Week 4!  I'm excited about training again and feel very motivated.  This is likely due to my awesome 6 mile run last night! My long run is 11 miles this week.  I would, ideally, like to do this run outside and I'm going to try my hardest to!  Saturday's forecast is sunny and a high of +1!  I haven't been out on the trails yet this year, but I'm hoping that they are clear and dry. I am also hoping to participate in another writing challenge this week.  I really enjoyed writing last week!  Something I need to do more of for sure. My head is all over the place lately.  I'm not happy, but I'm not sad.  I feel numb, but content.  I have a feeling that my goals are taking over my mind.  This must be what it feels like to be so focussed on a goal that not much else matters...

Pina Coladas and the pool.

Week 1 of marathon training is going well, but so far I've done more swimming than running.  It feels really good though!   On Monday I swam 30 lengths (25 meters), Tuesday I did my 3 mile run, and today I swam 40 lengths.  The best part of swimming is still the awesome stretching at the end of it all.  Tomorrow is a 5 mile run and then 8 miles on Saturday.  I'm a little worried about the 8 miles.  I guess I'll just take it slow and steady.  I'm already

Drunk dinosaurs are always a good time.

It is 6:05am and I am sitting here writing this post while I figure out if I am a) hungover; b) still drunk; or c)good to go.  Part of me thinks that I should regret the 4 bottles of wine that I shared with D last night, and the other part is laughing at how awesome it is to be able to have that much fun and still wake up on time to run with dinosaurs.  (Side note:  I didn't have a CLUE why my alarm was going off this morning) Off I go to run with dinosaurs and bring home a wicked cool medal!   I should make some coffee....

Run, Run, Run for the hills.....

I've been struggling with this blog for a couple of years now.  I just never know what to write.  I want to write and I want to blog, but I've never had anything that I've felt passionate enough about to write more than one post on (except for my hatred towards most of the human race...but who wants to be that negative all the time?) I think I've finally found something that I can focus on... RUNNING . I've been a runner for a few years now.  Sometimes I feel like a super star, and sometimes I feel like a poser.  It comes and and it goes.  Obviously, based on how/if I'm training.  My running resume consists of a 5km race (my first race ever), 2 half marathons, and Mud Hero (6km of pure fun!!!).  Tomorrow I will be running in the Dinosaur 10km.  I'm only doing it for the medal.. There's a dinosaur on it! My super awesome and inspiring running partner, A, brought up the insane idea of running a full marathon next year (2013).  I ...
