Drunk in the Mud.

On July 22, 2012 I ran my first hangover race.  The race was a 6km obstacle course called Mud Hero .  We were out camping the day before with our newly acquired S ea-doo.  Dozens of jello shots and a case of beer later, I found myself the life of the party and was raring to keep going.  Ah, but I had to run in the morning...errr...afternoon.  In 30 degree celsius weather.

I'm using the F word.

Fuck it.  I'll do my long run in the morning.....hungover.  Tonight I am doing this:

Mind, you are an alcoholic.

Week 1 is done and therefore I should have reached all my goals, right? Well I feel like I should have.  Week 1 was good.  Week 1 was fairly easy.  I ate right, I trained right, and therefore I should have lost the 12 pounds that I want to lose and should be good to go for this marathon in May!   Ha!  If only is was that easy.  Now I'm on Week 2 and my mind is already slipping back into it's old ways...... 'Sure you can eat a chocolate bar every day, you're running 18 miles this week'........'Of course you can have a few glasses of red wine while you cook supper.  You won't be able to run until at least 8 anyways'......'You might as well get drunk after your run.  You've burned off all the calories already' GO AWAY MIND!  You are wrong.  And an alcoholic  You are a wrong alcoholic. I have to go and get my little 3 miler in before my mind takes over and I end up a slobbering mess trying to find the auto-...

Drunk dinosaurs are always a good time.

It is 6:05am and I am sitting here writing this post while I figure out if I am a) hungover; b) still drunk; or c)good to go.  Part of me thinks that I should regret the 4 bottles of wine that I shared with D last night, and the other part is laughing at how awesome it is to be able to have that much fun and still wake up on time to run with dinosaurs.  (Side note:  I didn't have a CLUE why my alarm was going off this morning) Off I go to run with dinosaurs and bring home a wicked cool medal!   I should make some coffee....
