Drink Up!

It's SATURDAY!  You know what that means!

(ok...you don't, but from now on I will be posting my weekly running wrap up as well as a new drink recipe for you try while celebrating)

The Wrap Up:

16 running miles : 3, 5, 8

My 3 mile run was rather easy.  The 5 miler was a good run, but I cramped up at about 3.5 miles and had to walk for .25
miles.  Last 1.25 were strong and I ended with the feeling that I could do a few more.
The 8 miles was a little tough, but totally doable.
I'm ready for week 2.

2 x 1km swims - best cross training I've ever done!

The Drink Up:

We went to Cuba at the beginning of January and I'm still on a Pina Colada kick.  Remember when I won a Margaritaville?  Very handy for Pina Coladas!  Although, I did learn that each of these Pina Coladas are between 400-800 calories PER DRINK.  Eeeek.

So I present:

The Skinny Pina Colada

2 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Coconut Rum
5 oz Club Soda

(Yes, I OWN this recipe...I don't, but you can pay me for it by following me on Twitter and sharing my blog with everyone you know)

Tastes great and less than 100 calories per drink!

You're welcome.

Drink Up!

So we did something fun!

So we did something super fun and scary last spring... we decided to move to our lake cabin full time !  Ahhh!  It's been very trying and very exciting and I think we're actually settled in out here.  Also, HI!  I know it's only been a short while since I posted last...errr...ok, it's been a year and a half, but priorities, right? So, yeah, downsizing...haha!  In 2 years, we've gone from 3800 square feet of living space to about... 750.  And, you know what? It's totally not all sunshine and rainbows, but it works!  Living at the lake and having all of these amazing trees around us is completely worth it.  The boys have settled into, yet, another new school and this school is the best one yet! Around the end of April last year, I came out to the cabin to clean up our holiday trailer so we could sell it.  I took a break, made a caesar , and sat on the front lawn with Duke in the small bit of sunshine that made its way through the ...

Feel the burn.

B is no longer for beer and I'm sad   I really should have thought this theme through a little bit more.  Words that start with B and are relative to my "commit to fit" challenge aren't the easiest to come by.  I've decided to go with " burn "  because I am already feeling it!! On Saturday I decided to terrorize exercise my core and upper body after my run.  DOMS set in late on Sunday and after an intense work out tonight, I dread laughing.    My commit to be fit challenge will include 3-4 strength training sessions per week in addition to my half marathon training program.  It's time to feel the burn !  Can you feel it?
